Hiking on the heights of the Rio Cauca

We climb the peaks of the Canyon del Cauca, contemplating the eponymous river from the steep and wooded slopes of the Jericó countryside. From coffee farms to coffee or banana plants, we finally let ourselves be charmed by the warm welcome of Maria Eugenia, a farmer from the region, whose finca offers a panoramic view of the valley. Lunch at her place for a typical local meal.
On the way back to the village we come across cheerful pickers, their bags overflowing with red grains. We stop at the exit of a local school to observe rural life or at the entrance to a clearing to listen to the joyful song of a mountain troglodyte bird.
